Young emerging Pakistani rappers

After Ali Gul Pir and Faris Shafi, we can see new emerging Pakistani rappers. One new rap band has come to expose their talents. It is called the ‘Young Stunners‘ who are quite young though motivated towards their passion for rap music.

Young Stunner band seems to be dominated by Talha Anjum. He writes the lyrics and raps in most of the solos given by the band. Umair Khan composes the music and does the lyrical sequencing. Other important team members of YS are followed as: Dj Abdur, Abdullah Malik and Farasat Anees.

The band raps in Urdu (National language of Pakistan) and covers various topics and issues mainly of Pakistani consultations. They have rapped on current Pakistani youngsters flavours, political issues, and romantic pop-raps yet.

The most popular, listened and watched albums by Young Stunners are: Ghalib, Sajna, Mela Manju, Muntazir and many more.

If Ghalib is to be considered, the band writes a little against the social norms. Their awakening lyrics sounds quite deep for their age but this shows how much potential is lying in the present youth, however, is not being utilized well-enough.

Throughout this research, no good source of information was found on the other members of this band and their personal lives. However, their music albums and solos can be easily googled. Also, they can be searched for on YouTube, listened to on SoundCloud and Pakium.pk also provides links of their songs.

Hope YS become popular one day and this might make them be interviewed so people acknowledge the hidden talents amongst our youth soon, gradually.

TAXILA

Taxila, ranked as the top tourist destination in Pakistan by The Guardian newspaper In 2006 is a town and an important archaeological site in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.The town lies 549 metres (1,801 ft) above sea level. It is the headquarters of the Taxila Tehsil in Rawalpindi district.

Some of the earliest ruins in this area date to the time of the Achaemenid Empire in the 6th century BCE.

The renowned archaeologist Sir Alexander Cunningham rediscovered the ruins of Taxila in the mid-19th century and in 1980, Taxila was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sufi Love

INTRODUCTION

What is the essence of love? Are there any other forms of love existing besides physical love? Can love be eternal? 

To begin with, Love is an abstract noun which means for some it is a word unattached to anything real or sensible, that is all; for others, it is a means by which our being – our self and its world – are irrevocably affected once we are ‘touched by love’; some have sought to analyze it, others have preferred to leave it in the realm of the ineffable. Yet it is undeniable that love plays an enormous and unavoidable role in our several cultures; it is discussed in song, film, and novels – humorously or seriously; it is a constant theme of maturing life and a vibrant theme for youth.

LOVE AND LITERATURE: EXISTENCE OF DISTINCT OPINIONS

Different authors have differently pictured the essence of love that ranges from love of human to love of oneness, few of them are-

• “Love is not to be found in someone else but in ourselves; we simply awaken it. But in order to do that, we need the other person.” ― Paulo Coelho, Eleven Minutes.
• “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” — Martin Luther King Jr. (A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches).

LOVE AND PHILOSOPHY

Philosophically, the nature of love has, since the time of the Ancient Greeks, been a mainstay in philosophy, producing theories that range from the materialistic conception of love as purely a physical phenomenon – an animalistic or genetic urge that dictates our behavior – to theories of love as an intensely spiritual affair that in its highest permits us to touch divinity.

Sufi Love

Historically, in the Western tradition, Plato’s Symposium presents the initiating text, for it provides an enormously influential and attractive notion that love is characterized by a series of elevations, in which base lust is superseded by a more intellectual conception of love which also is surpassed by what may be construed by a theological vision of love that transcends sensual attraction and mutuality. Since then there have been detractors and supporters of Platonic love as well as a host of alternative theories – including that of Plato’s student, Aristotle and his more secular theory of true love reflecting what he described as ‘two bodies and one soul.’
The philosophy of love is the field of social philosophy and ethics that attempts to explain the nature of love. The nature of love includes Agape (highest form of love; humanity), Philia (friendship) and Eros (sexual love). But there exists a word that is irreplaceable, of an idiosyncratic meaning extensively used by Persian poets, Sufis called Ishq.

ISHQ: AN UNFLINCHING QUEST.
What is Ishq? Do all seek Love? What is the nature of Ishq? Which love triumphs?

Etymologically, Ishq is an Arabic word used in Arabic as well as many other languages that means “love”. The word is derived from ‘ashiqah’, a vine. In Sufism it is a concept which refers to “divine love” or “a creature’s love for its creator”; i.e. man’s love for God.

“Let hearts be the centre of love and faith. And acquaint the Muslims with Your Presence Great.”  – Iqbal, Gabriel’s wing.

In Iqbal’s view, love (Ishq) is completely elevated from matter and does not have the slightest traces of passionate (Materialistic) desire. It is all faith (Imān) longing (Shawq) and pious sentiments.

Khalil Gibran stated in The Prophet- “Love (Ishq) gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself. Love possesses not nor would it be possessed; for love is sufficient unto love. When you love you should not say, ‘God is in my heart,’ but rather, ‘I am in the heart of God.’ And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.”

Rumi stated in The Masnavi “Love (Ishq) is the astrolabe of God’s mysteries. A lover may hanker after this love or that love, But at last he is drawn to the KING of love.”- Rumi, The Masnavi

Ibn Arabi Quds (REH) said that the word Ishq has been represented by the word Muhabbah (love) in the Holy Quran.

These extracts from work of different authors perfectly explain the meaning of love, which solely means to love Divine not for the heavens but for the Divine essence itself.
They submit themselves and love Creatures for the sake of Creator.
Allah Almighty said: “My servant draws near to Me with nothing more loved by Me than the acts of worship that I have enjoined upon him. My servant continues to try to draw near to Me with more devotion, until I love him. When I love him, I will be his hearing with which he hears, his sight by which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, his feet on which he walks.”- Sahih Al Bukhari.

Many Orthodox criticize the word “Ishq” and the Sufi conception of Love as they claim it to be an innovation and said that its not necessary that if one loves God, He loves Him back e.g. the case of Nuri who said that “I love God and God loves me”, who was criticized by Ibn Al Jawzi as he said its self deception. But it is clearly mentioned in the Hadith
“God said; I am to my servant as he thinks of Me.” – Sahih Al Bukhari
It is through this Hadith which makes clear that Beloved can be perceived in any form, as a friend, a lover, a father etc. Ishq is the love, help, service, even sacrifice in the sense of surrendering one’s legitimate inalienable rights. It is the domination of the world; control and modification at pleasure of the laws of nature and through it the attainment of Beloved (God).

To love and to be loved is a part of human nature, we all want someone to love us, understand us, support us in the same way how we love, understand and support them. Our true identity is revealed through love. This poem explains well-
“It is the Human desire for Love. Every person in this Earth yearns to love, to be loved, to know love.Our true identity, our reason for being is to be found in this desire.” ― Gerald G. May, Living in Love

But does this happen in reality? Why is it said that “expectations hurt a lot, and are always meant to be broken?” The only reason to it is that we connect ourselves to others for sake of our means. “”And yet there are some people, who replace Allah with rivals, loving them as Allah is loved.

But the believers love Allah more intensely” (2:165) It is love that signifies the strong attraction that draws all creatures back to reunion with their Creator as He is the Real Agent. It is then love of God arises in heart and no doubt God also feels love for that person. Worldly loves is temporal and has no end in itself.
“If a thing perceived by outward senses is beloved,
Then all who retain their senses must still love it,
And since love increases constancy,
How can constancy fail while form abides?”-Rumi, The Masnavi

Whereas Ishq (Divine love), is non spatial and non temporal in existence.
Love the wellspring of life; Love, on which death has no claim.– Iqbal
Love is God’s very nature, for, according to the Hadith, “God is beautiful and He loves beauty.” If Love appears in many different forms, it is precisely because, not being conditioned by any form in particular, It can assume all forms.

Love appears in numerous forms because in Itself, It is formless. To posit two loves different in essence would amount to introducing a duality into the very nature of existence. The reality is one reality, for there is no other reality. Love is to strongly hold the rope of Beloved (God). Love contains trust, patience and compassion.

Ishq (love) is first for The Lover (God), occupying the heart and conscience in such a way that it overwhelms concealed everything else. The lover says, “I never saw a thing but I saw Allah before it, after it, and along with it” And only in God, can love find true perfection.

For love is enduring, patient and kind. It judges all things with the heart, not the mind. And love can transform the most common place into beauty and splendor and sweetness and grace. For love is unselfish, giving more than it takes, being unconditional and unhampered by environment. Love never forsakes, it’s faithful and trusting, truthful. It is guileless and honest and never deceiving. Love is God’s Divine Gift. The lover has an unending desire to meet his Beloved and so does his Beloved (God) wants to.
Allah Almighty said: “If My servant loves to meet Me, I love to meet him, and if he hates to meet Me, I hate to meet him.” -Sahih Al Bukhari.

The lover unconditionally loves his Beloved’s creatures even if they hurt them, scorn them, humiliate them, and judge them.
“The true Sufi is such that even when he is unjustly accused, attacked, and condemned from all sides, he patiently endures, uttering not a single bad word about any of his critics. A Sufi never apportions blame. How can there be opponents or rivals or even “others” when there is no “self” in the first place? How can there be anyone to blame when there is only One?” -Shams if Tabriz, 40 rules of Love.
It is not being of a lover if he only loves his Beloved but not His Creatures. Love is to embrace and love each and every thing of Beloved.

“It’s easy to love a perfect God, unblemished and infallible that He is. What is far more difficult is to love fellow human beings with all their imperfections and defects. Remember, one can only know what one is capable is of loving. There is no wisdom without love. Unless we learn to love God’s creation, we can neither truly love nor truly know God” – Shams of Tabriz, 40 rules of love.

Allama Iqbal has written in his famous poem “Masjid-e-Qurtuba” related to Ishq that

“Actions of the believer are enhanced through Ishq,
Ishq is true life and can never die.”
Intention and belief are strengthened by Ishq to such an extent that the lover no longer fears anything, nor does any grief worry him. The believer is from Ishq, Ishq is from the believer. Ishq makes the impossible possible.

The lover (Ashiq) feels ecstatic in the remembrance of his Beloved but gains high consciousness. His deeds reflect his love and genuineness.

“To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise on your lips.”– Khalil Gibran, The Prophet
The lover is successful in both the worlds due to his love for the Beloved and maintains equilibrium between worldly matters and spiritual life. He knows his aim of life as well as his duties and rights. E.g. A lover can be student who dedicates his time for studies as well as for supplication. The time spent in studies can also be worship as he in heart aims to understand and praise the creations of His Beloved.
“Lover is the who hath the two worlds on the palm of his hands,
Lover is he who build his own world,
Is not in harmony with a world that knows a border.”– Iqbal, Bal-i-Gibril
Ishq is such a stage which can achieved after exploring the inner dark mysterious world of self or in the search of the Ultimate Truth. When explored, the whole world is seen through the eye, not of this visionary sense but of the heart whose light lights the heart through the Light of God. They know that the Divine is present in their hearts, not in churches, mosques, and temples.
“How long will you suffer from the blows
of a nonexistent hand?
So come, return to the root of the root
of your own soul”- Rumi, Love is a stranger.

HUMAN LOVE AND DIVINE LOVE

 It is a misconception that true soul mate in this world is a completion of love but No, it is a part of love that helps us to self actualize and connect to the Divine power. Islam even guides us to select those are spouses who are religious and pious, because they help in strengthening relation with Beloved (God).
“Your soul mate is there for you, they are not a love, but part of the love you have for yourself and your life. Your soul mate is the mirrored aspects of you that will bring out your best”– Shams of Tabriz, 40 rules of love.
There is a dividing line between love for God and love for Human.
“To end one’s ego in front of a person is known as human love, and to end one’s ego in front of all is known Divine love”– Ashfaq Ahmad, Zavia
Jami, a Persian writer has beautifully distinguished divine love from worldly love as he compared divine lover as love-drunk and material lover as wine-drunk showing the supremacy and triumph of love drunk.

“We are drunk, boisterous, debauched and shrewd; through Love we have entered the battleground of destruction. If we are killed a hundred times with love’s arrow, that will bring eternal life – so what is our fear?” -Jami, Lawami

The poet is conveying in his poem that both the wine-drunk and the Love-drunk are brave and reckless, void of the quality of fear and cowardice. In places of danger they are bold, and in times of peril they have had enough of life. But the bravery of the wine- drunk is because his foresighted reason has been overwhelmed, while the courage of the love-drunk is based on the domination of mystical unveiling and certitude. The first results in perdition (punishment) in this world and the next, the second in eternal life.

“Do not criticize me, sir, when I drink and strive to be a lover and slave of wine.
As long as I am sober I am sitting with others. When I am unconscious I am in the arms of my Beloved”. – Jami, Lawami

There is the custom of rendering unconscious and intoxicated and releasing from the tie of existence and self-centeredness. But the intoxication of Love is perfect awareness and consciousness of the Beloved, while the intoxication of wine is complete ignorance and forgetfulness of all that is necessary. The latter shows the way of the descending degrees of remoteness and punishment to those who are far from God, and the former increases elevation in the ascending degrees of proximity and union for those who are near to Him.

CONCLUSION

To sum up, Ishq is unconditional love for God solely for His essence. It is this love that lives eternally. The lover loves everything related to His Beloved (God) which includes His creatures, attributes, commands (shariah) etc. Ishq can be obtained through identifying the inner self or in search of the hidden mysteries of world, which when unveiled lighten the soul. He knows that it is the True Beloved who causes all outward earthly beauty to exist. Love is a force that provides not only a solution for all human difficulties but also for all human wickedness. It is a current for the separate elements of the universe. The whole world would be a sepulcher without the life giving touch of love. The lover is of best character that moves day by day closer to the Beloved. These triumph in both the worlds as he maintains equilibrium in both worldly matters and spiritual life.

Death Note

If you are bored with your studies and you gotta try an mystery and thriller supernatural manga “Death note” . its a classic manga  series created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and manga artist Takeshi Obata released in year 2003-2006.

The story of the manga revolve around a 12 grade young boy named Light Yagami, who was an intelligent and genius boy of his age and destined to be successful and progressed but he somewhat get bored from his daily routine. But that all changed when one day he found a note book in the courtyard of his school. The note book title was “DEATH NOTE“

On the inside of the book cover there were instruction written that the owner of the book will be able to kill the person name whose name he wrote on the book, also “Any person’s name written in the Death Note will die in 40 seconds…. without fail”.

On the other hand story do tell that the original oner of the book was a Shinigami (Death God) name “Ryuk”, who purposefully drop the book from hell into the human word just as to see what humans will do with such kind of power.

Light with his great intelligent came to a decision to use the book to kill the entire criminal and make an evil-free world. He thinks himself as a God and rationalizes his action as justice

“I am Justice! I protect the innocent and those who fear evil. I’m the one that will become the God of a new world that everyone desires!

With the great suspicious killing of the criminal mobilize the authorities and they asked for the help of a legendary detective “L”. L wants to catch the killer behind the scene in accordance with law “No Matter How Gifted you are… You alone cannot Change the World” that’s what L belief and what more interesting is that L is not the real name of him, so Light will not be able to kill with death note that easily…!

The story gets very inquisitiveness to see the death brawl hunting game between two geniuses L and Light.

Now let me give you a proposal

“What will you do if you had a death note?”

Will you kill a serial killer? Or the one who bullied you? Or the one who annoyed you?  What a person’s life worth to you. What if you ask for help from a police officer and he snubbed you will you stand by and cover the truth or will you use death note?

“There is no heaven or hell.

No matter what you do while you’re alive, everybody goes to the same place once you die.

Death is Equal.”

Now what will you do in such a situation? “What will you do to appraise Justice?”

How much you think a law should justify killing of a person.  Will you let a criminals live in the world even when you have the opportunity to kill them and in return it cost you nothing…! 

I think it’s a very robust effort to have an insight of yourself about such thoughts once in a while..!

Psychopaths; who to condemn a view of my own

Even very title gave me chills and goose bumps, makes my heart break and my eyes dries. Why? Wait for the answer till the end of my blog.

A person suffering from chronic mental disorder with abnormal or violent social behavior. A simple definition of psychopath, but does it truly the reality? Or is it again a world thing? What we think commonly are psychopaths are bad. They’re mad, crazy, they’re psychotic and maybe even schizophrenic. They’re evil simpletons and brutes who can’t behave or talk civilized, and they spend their lives surfing porn on the Internet.  Their bodies are covered all over with wired tattoos, and are petty criminals or serial killers.

We think of them as evil monster run loose. They were born with such traits and due to nurture and genetic they do evil deeds.

As a matter of fact I disagree with this common point view. Not all the psychopaths are mass murders who just know how to kill and who to kill. You should know that everyone has the natural ability named as urges, basic urges to survive known as survival instinct, to save oneself a human become lower then a dog. Who does not just bark but has the ability to slash other person through and even to cook them as meal. So the basic distinction between a normal person and the psychopath is the matter of limit control over this instinct. So why is the reason a perfectly choose a path of deviances?

In my view no one born with the genes of becoming a psychopath or sociopath. No matter how much your parents are violent in their lives but violence is not a trait that dominated over the person personality. Unless a person let that trait to be shine and groomed.  People are born sweet and innocent, and are not automatically wired to commit crimes, or exhibit unacceptable behavior. It is Society and Undesirable Circumstances that create a sense of deviance inside them. Of course there can be some rare circumstances.

Psychopaths are not stupid, dumb, uneducated, low-class misfits and not in most cases not even any kind of mentally disable. They are highly intelligent people; their IQ’s are much higher than a normal person.  Some of them are quite handsome and have good careers, despite view most of them are good in social skill and use this all the more to their benefit and they all are easily blended in our society in a way that it is impossible to judge bad.  e.g. Ted Bundy he was apparently quite good-looking, which made him even more dangerous

They are geniuses too much to read into the situation that they misinterpret it. It’s not like they are irrational or insane of any kind. They have their own believe and their logic is not undeniable but it’s just that their logics are too inhumane. “All I have ever done in my life is to kill those whom I considered to be evil. I would have killed myself, too, after wiping out the human race. If God exists, then I curse him to hell for creating me and creating man.”_Neil (April, 16)

They have adopted their own personal version of morals and made themselves their own God. They with their own consistent set of values came to the stage from where they saw the world from the totally different angle. Hitler was a psychopath. He was not nuts. How could he exterminate 12 million people? It is well documented that his idea of the superior race had its origins in Darwin’s theory of evolution.

Hitler felt he was doing the world a favor by culling from humanity. Those he viewed as evolutionary misfits! Ever notice that Hitler never went to church? Hitler was not crazy or mentally ill but very rational for what he believed. The truth is, that if Darwin was right then nobody could really say that what Hitler did? Was any more wrong, then when men spray insecticide to kill millions of bugs in a crop. Psychopaths may be the sanest consistent and logical people on earth. Most psychopaths start with animals and then they progresses to humans. As we know man is a social animal. So they consider the pain of the human same as the killing of an animal rather to them killing one or two life of human does not matter as they sees it as purification of the world.

Sometime to some the intense of cruelty and violence they have seen as compared to it. What they do is just a half of it, it’s not like every serial killer or psychopath are mass murderer. Funny but they had a moral code and professional style of their own just as any job. They have specific victims and sometime they perform the killing with a followed ritual like bathing them with rose water or treating them with fancy food and product.

They have their own individual pattern of killing which vary from killer to killer. From this point many of you might assume like I am saying what they are doing is not bad. Well its quite the opposite what my point is the things they do each and every killer has its own logic and reason for it. To me that reason is of prime importance, because that is the root cause of sociopaths and much other similar crime in our society.

Ted Burney claimed that he had no natural sense of how to develop friendships. “I didn’t know what made people want to be friends,” he said. “I didn’t know what underlay social interactions.” This is a very commonly seeing phenomenon most of the people felt very shy during their childhood. They don’t speak up or either they have an introvert personality. Society and people like us we started making fun of them. We stereotype them as cowards and scary cats. Form these bullies all type of infirmity complex rise and a desire to dominate and shut the calls of other arises.

So in short from the start that little fire of killing intent we put them in it and all what happen next is someone or something to just add fuel to this little fire and a killer of series of murder is born.

Every human got some basic rights and there are some basic needs which he deserves like food, clothing, shelter, safety and sexual relationship. Many of the culprits of psychopath don’t get these basic needs. Things which are automatically available to us to them it was never there.

So a greed and jealousy that built inside of them a sense of deprivation what they feel throughout their childhood by enacting such behaviors. The psychopath is also trying to “get back” at society and the world, in order to gain retribution. This must be take in consideration that same well settle, financial and status success full person are also found being sociopath that is because they are deprived of happiness they are haunted by loneliness. So indoor to find that peace of happiness with money they even bought human but in the end they can’t fill up the hole inside of them and ended up killing them.

Sexual relationship and intimacy is the most common seeing cause in making a person psychopath. It’s true that almost every sociopath before or after killing their victims. They are involve in prostitution with them but it is due to the fact that what psychology says their id impulses are not gratified during childhood. Also sometime their girlfriends make fun of them or other remarks them as sexually impaired that’s the main reason they take their victims out in secluded areas involve in prostitution just to prove others wrong and satisfy their self.

Sexual orientation is also one of the reasons Pakistan first (documented) Javed Iqbal who murder 100 boys was a gay. He was a pampered child belongs  to a notable wealthy family but he ended up killing 100 boys he used to attract them with sweets, candies or job offer. After sexually abusing them he dissolve their bodies in an self made acid and kept their belonging as a souvenirs. It is said that he was found being caught by the family members and they insulted and jailed him for trying to sexually assault heir boys, even his family members abandoned him when it comes to this. So what other way he found was path of a serial killer.

Despite these reasons our society plays another role by not giving the proper justice. Agencies that are supposed to provide and protect justice in positions of power exploit their power, causing more harm. Even contributing to the mistrust that exists within the community.  It is the government agencies that need to step up to the plate, and re-evaluate their purpose and mission. It is the government who needs to mend what is broken, and to make right what is wrong. One may ask, “How can we stop the greed, violence, crime and corruption in the streets. When those who have taken the oath to serve and protect are running unrestrained and guilty of the same?”

Recently in Pakistan the incident of the factory in Baldia town in that tragedy the lives of at least 258 factory workers were lost. The factory set on fire for its refusal to pay extortion money and the men inside were suffocates to death. A Rangers’ report submitted in the Sindh High Court held the MQM responsible for the Baldia fire tragedy that claimed the lives of at least 258 factory workers. The report is base on information collectes from an allege MQM worker, Rizwan Qureshi, in 2013.

What is the future of that city? The society whose been leaded by such rulers. A society whose being running by a gun man rule it’s no surprise to find any serial killer in such circumstances. Because the upper lot is already having a sociopath mind, if not then how can man order to kill 200+ innocent man. Just because of some extortion money without feeling remorse, shame and repent towards his own act. Imran khan in his press conference on 9 Feb, 2015 also says MQM leader as psychopath as to him also it was not rational to manipulate peoples through a phone line and to kill peoples insensibly.

So, if you are having thoughts what you part? or you can play? The solutions is simple look for the reason and try to understand other person reasons and help them resolving conflicts arising in their logic. Be careful of your behavior,  must take in consideration any act before doing it. What consequences it may cause, either your action creating an irritability in other person or might a little deeds of yours is pushing a person in utter abyss of despair, that ticks his killing intentions.

Next time you see a person treats unjustly by the society, try not to gave a blind and deaf ear to him. At least if you not make her misery lessen try opposing the unjust act. Similarly if you saw someone being having an strange or not normal ideas don’t label him like an mad and alien. If you can’t understand his point of view then don’t condemn it. Either because what is normal for you might be abnormal for him and otherwise you may be participating in making a normal person insane.

In the end Psychopaths are not crazy, mentally ill or nuts. They are rational, normal people. The psychopath feels no guilt for murdering and cannibalizing others. Because they don’t think it is wrong to do so. Their conscience teaches it’s ok to do bad stuff to others if that’s what you want to do. This is why they feel no remorse, not because they have no conscience. And it’s not like they are born with it. Society makes them. So the things we should more condemn rather than their killing must be their reasons which make them kills. People like us, me and you. We make them and then we hate them… no wonder that’s why it gave us chills?
